Let me just start out with this... tl;dr - Thiefs gameplay is like a subpar version of Dishonored and assassins creed with a storyline worse than serious sam (thats right... it gets worse than that) and characters no one is really going to grow to care about. Buy dishonored instead. Thief is a newly released game that is somewhere close to... 13?... years in the making. Theyre running off of a franchise that was the precursor to the stealth genre of games. This new game takes all of the bad voice acting and story writing of the original thief games, removes the somewhat free roaming aspect by railroading you to a specific path or two, and proceeds with many mechanics copy and pasted from the original game. Plus you are no longer stealing for yourself. Now you are stealing for a character who gets a grand total of like 10 minutes of screen time. Now the story alludes to a long past between the two characters but there is nothing to really tie it together in a way that is going to make you care about the character of Erin in any way shape or form unless you just like rescuing princesses from castles (which im not against. plumbers gotta have something to do in a world with no real plumbing but TONS of pipes laying around). Not that I truly think my opinions could sway people looking to purchase this game. If youd like to see videos of the game to make your own informed opinion, there are many on youtube.
