Let me know if you have ever received an advertisement purporting - TopicsExpress

Let me know if you have ever received an advertisement purporting quoting my endorsement of a product or service via Facebook. And a question for lawyers: It strikes me as fraudulent in a basic sense for an advertisement to purport to be an endorsement from an individual without the individuals consent. Isnt this a misrepresentation of fact that could induce reliance for a sale? Im sure the click-and-agree contract that nobody ever reads covers this possibility, but in many cases courts dont allow for contracting out of serious ethical violations like fraud. Correct me where Im wrong. Obviously, there is a low likelihood of lawsuits for ads -- but what about a class action for damage caused to reputations of people who are misrepresented by Facebook as promoting products, especially if Facebook changes this sort of policy after someone signs up? Facebook: Please send as an advertisement to potential plaintiff-side class action lawyers!
