Let me preface this post, by saying that I am not knocking those - TopicsExpress

Let me preface this post, by saying that I am not knocking those who do things differently. Im just feeling particularly nostalgic and sentimental, which is typically how I am! 😊 That being said, I LOVE my Christmas tree. My tree isnt covered with baubles and beads. Its not wrapped in ribbons and bows. It is, quite simply, a tribute to my family (past & present) and a reflection of what I hold most dear! I can tell you, with certainty, where EVERY ornament on my tree came from. While a few were purchased on family outings or vacations in places that we love, the vast majority are homemade or handmade by me, my children, or their grandmothers. If the stories behind each are the threads that bind our family together, God, most certainly, has been the master tailor. In a world enamored by glitz and glam, I sometimes contemplate purchasing an artificial tree and ornaments that could stay on it, even in storage. Then, I could just pull it down out of the attic and plug it in and be done. But then, I smell that fresh tree smell, and start to carefully hang each memory, and I know that this is the only way I can imagine my Christmas tree. It may be simple. It may be plain. It may be humble. But I wouldnt trade it for anything! It tells the story of a family that is simply, plainly, humbly blessed!
