Let me put it in product terms. If my t2 lacie quadra hard drive was worth 1.60-1.80 dollars in the 60s, no one would have a problem with justifying the price nowadays being at 15 to 16 dollars. So why is it that flipping burgers doesnt follow the same route. when you apply for a job, to get the job you must sign a contract, and you must prove to that business why you are the best candidate. You are essentially placing a bid on what you have to offer. Now Im not saying that youre selling yourself as a human being, but what you are selling is your time, effort, commitment and loyalty. The business is not in the position of making money for you, but you are in the business of making money for you. the service you offer is a product. So if flipping burgers cost 1.60 in the 60s, that becomes true to market value of the current american dollar and becomes worth 15 dollars, just like other products worth as much, your service to a business should also follow suit. Because Its the worth of the dollar in fair market value. I cannot stress that enough. ~Me
