Let me put it this way.... Jubilee Government,Jubilee political class and Jubilee supporters and friends are not scared of any referendum. But the three categories of Jubilee family are opposed to referendum calls due to three concerns... Jubilee government headed by Uhuru Kenyatta see referendum calls as a waste of time and money that Kenya needs to put into development projects... To Uhuru Kenyatta and his Cabinet a referendum will not only help to waste Kenyans scarce resources but also polarize and divide the country... Uhuru Kenyatta and his Cabinet are right... To the Jubilee political wing referendum calls by especially the Cord coalition is a desperate attempt by a badly wounded opponent to seek relevance... To the Jubilee political wing the whole brouhaha is nothing less than the reinvention of Mr. Odinga to seek relevance for another stab at the 2017 polls. The Jubilee political wing is also right. To the Jubilee supporters and friends they have a different concern. I will call it the BOLD concern. They are concerned that they have not been consulted on which referendum question to ask. As a matter of fact they are silently and loudly complaining that the questions bandied around are grossly inadequate... They want more questions.... I have heard them throw questions on age of Presidential candidates, reduction of county governments, scrapping of some seats they call irrelevant, etc, etc... . The Jubilee supporters and friends are damn right! The CORD coalition is playing with fire, All the three categories of Jubilee Family are not afraid of a referendum, BUT the third category wants an inclusive ( all question) referendum to happen for a different political strategy....... and it will be a checkmate in Kenyan politics! Food for thought!
