Let me say that Im sorry I will not be here with you all tonight - TopicsExpress

Let me say that Im sorry I will not be here with you all tonight at 10:00. I have been pondering what commentary I wanted to write for the past two days or so. I know that adding scripture is important but what I have to say struck me as the right thing after I watched the movie Heaven is Real. I believe this movie addresses two things that our group is about. Reaching the lost and the apostate of the church. I dont have the answers as to why this little boy was brought to what he believes is heaven. Im not God. But two things about this movie struck me as very misleading and I was to say the least disappointed after watching it. For those that were planning to see it, forgive me for putting spoilers in here. It isnt his visit I question. What I questioned was that the church was what we have discussed as a feel good message church. The pastor seemed confused after repeated conversations with his 4 year old son about what Heaven was like. Number 1, the little boy stated that he had met his sister in heaven, and that he knew that because she had told him she had died in her mommys tummy before she was born. When the mother asked what her name was, the little boy stated his sister said she didnt have one because they didnt give her one before she was born. According to the scripture, Rev 2:17 it speaks of a white stone with a name for each person. There are many variations of commentary on that. Some state we will each have a new name in Heaven so that when the Lord calls us by name, it will be a name only unique to us. Another states that it will be the name of MY GOD as Jesus tells the disciples. My mother, who is a wonderful spirit filled Christian, said the Lord would give her a new name when she was in Heaven. So its hard to say. But no matter which is true, I dont believe the little sister would have been in Heaven without a name at least given to her by God. Also, the little boy saw angels and heard them sing, but they were female voices. Its my understanding that all angels are men. Correct me if I am in error on that. The second issue I have is after this preacher had pondered, and I supposed came to a realization of what this meant, he spoke of the love of God and heaven being that place. Leaving out the WAY to Heaven. No mention was made as to how we get to heaven and no mention of hell. This would leave unbelievers with the belief that all good people go to heaven. There ARE no good people. None are worthy. So this movie left out the two most important things. Salvation and hell. Now understanding that this is a movie, and perhaps they left out many things, in this movie the church leaders were at first upset about this because to them apparently heaven and hell were just fictional places. That is what I deemed from this movie. How does all this fit in with what we are talking about? The churchs that are turning away from the TRUE message of the Cross. In these end times, preaching the message of salvation is the utmost important. It is also important to teach and speak of the end times as we know it and as its coming is so close. Current events politically are all part of the end times. While I understand that this movie was not about end times, we as Christians feel the pulling of the end times,we feel the evil all around us. We are to be warriors for Christ as well as spreading the true message of the cross. Heaven or hell. I get the feeling that there are more churches out there like the one in the movie, than not anymore. So we are called to speak the TRUTH of Gods word. I personally will endeavor to pass that message when I can as well as inform people that time is short, the end times are here, and pray that somehow eyes will be opened as never before. I acknowledge that Jesus Christ came from Heaven, born as the Son of God, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again, thus redeeming us in the sight of God and defeating eternal death. I have accepted HIM into my heart, my soul and HE is everything to me. Man will fail you, but Christ never will. Blessings to you all.
