Let me say this .. I am truly excited when I see another sista rockin’ her own natural hair. I smile real big on the inside. Something in my souls says Rock on Sista!!! I decided to see what my hair really looked like, what it would do….w/o chemicals. w/o the creamy crack many years ago Though I believed I was making an outward change, what I heard in my heart, transformed me on the inside; you are far more beautiful than you imagine. I discovered my hair is butta soft, wavy from the root then curly to the tips. Not bone-straight at all. For my sisters who have gotten so busy with living, working and caring for others that you haven’t taken the time to see how stunning you are from the crown of your mane to the soles of your feet. -- it’s crucial that we take the time to look at our ‘selves’ bc we are the mirrors for our next generation of women. Our hair is perfect for us and comes in varieties of textures & colors. We rejecting it and disagreeing vehemently, by beating it down with heat, chemicals, sew-ins and glue; we hide it under human and synthetic hair. We refuse to possess what is already authentically ours, in favor of buying what the world says we should be. I’m challenging those of you who haven’t taken a look at your hair, in a long while, to open your eyes. You might love what you see. I’m challenging us to stop rejecting our ‘selves’ for something manufactured. I challenge you to leave the perm on the shelves and rock yo natural ~ No lye!
