Let me say this about the BLM and “public use” lands. If Cliven Bundy is grazing his cattle on public lands, and I as a taxpayer have fractional “ownership” of that public land, then I’m all for letting him stay and not pay fees. Why? Because who has more of a financial stake in the stewardship of the land? A bunch of federal bureaucrats and their security force, or a man whose livelihood depends on his good stewardship? An agency that decided it had to kill a bunch of “protected” tortoises because they ran out of money, or a man who has used his own money to make improvements to the land? An agency with no financial skin in the game, that is selling mineral and water rights to a foreign government, or a man who produces beef cattle for consumption by US citizens—a man whose livelihood IS the skin in the game? #bundyranch #blm Bundy Ranch
