Let me say this and Im going to be done with it. I thought about the black on black crime argument. I even considered its validity, but when black people kill one another, the inevitable result is that they go to jail. Otherwise, you have a strong possibility of well wishes and a safe drive home. This isnt just about Mike Brown. This is about so many lives lost and nothing being done about it. Thats why people are upset. Its about the every day experience in America where the media and hate groups tell you that you are less than and getting justice on any level seems impossible. Its about being considered less than the man standing next to you. Ive experienced firsthand on multiple occasions what that feels like. Truth is, our legal system is not fair. Oftentimes, it doesnt even matter what the color of your skin is. Laws apply to some that dont apply to others. Whether you believe one way or the other about Mike Brown or Darren Wilson, we all need to recognize that the basis of this cry out for help does not come out of left field. However, until the unaffected become as outraged as the affected, the change we desire wont happen.
