Let me say this once. And only once. (As Im sure I will repeat it over and over. Like I always have.) I DO NOT CARE WHO YOU ARE, HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE, or WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE. We all put our pants on the SAME way. Just an FYI, this is 2014. An appropriate tip average is 18%. I can also say, at the cafe we are very spoiled bc we get that 18%-20% EVERY TIME. What I would like to convey are these FIVE (5) things: #1. - This is NOT 1980 where 15% is acceptable. #2. - Waiting tables is harder and more strenuous than most real jobs. #3. - IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO TIP THE APPROPRIATE AMOUNT, stay your ASS at HOME. (Yes, I did say ASS) #4. - The people, whom I have referred to in my Introduction, are THE WORST TIPPERS. (A few friends come to mind in particular, for this reference.) none at the cafe mind you. #5. - PLEASE dont think you are fooling us, who work in the service industry, when you say, everything was soooo great or this was soooo good, or you were the best server. That is our #kissofdeath #6. - AND A BONUS ONE, when YOUR FOOD IS COMPED, for ANY REASON, you should leave ATLEAST $5/person. And that includes your KIDS. Unless your server totally jacked up your whole dining experience. That is a while other story. I AM SO OVER people telling me, or others, you should get a REAL job. Unbeknownst to them, we make probably more CASH money than they realize. AND I LOVE WHAT MY not so REAL JOB is. P.S. If Anyone knows this jackass, please SLAP him for all of us.
