Let me say this, too: There are two equally weighty Truths - TopicsExpress

Let me say this, too: There are two equally weighty Truths here: Truth #1: A Black Man must NEVER beat a Black Woman. There is no excuse for it. Truth #2: A Black Woman must NOT take Truth#1 as license to put your hands on a Black Man, especially the Black Man who has not yet been de-Niggafied. With that being said, let me say this: I believe that the occasion of the release of the Ray Rice video is a PISS POOR time to raise and emphasize Tuth #2. There is NOTHING that I saw in that video that justifies what I saw in that video. Period. Yes, Black girls and women must be taught to STOP believing that you can hit a man with license and there will be no consequences. But THIS is NOT the time to emphasize THAT. The emphasis here should ONLY be: Nigga, dont put your damn hands own my daughter, my sister, my mother, my niece LIKE THAT! EVER! The REASON practically EVERY Black family has a young girl or boy who has been molested by a family member or family friend is because AS A COMMUNITY we give our molesters LICENSE by our silence or wish-washy stance. Likewise: the REASON so many of our daughters, mothers, sisters and nieces are in abusive relationships with men - many of which end in MURDER - is because AS A COMMUNITY we give our sisters abusers LICENSE by our silence or wish-washy stance. Until we Black People STOP treating Black People the way White People treat Black People, we cannot with any persuasiveness protest how White People treat Black People. Period.
