Let me start by saying.... I love the joy that comes from my job! I cant say that enough. Today as it got closer to 5pm I was dreading going to Sowela to sub that class. I was only scheduled to be there from 5pm to 6pm when the other teacher would show up and relieve me. Needless to say she asked if I would stay and watch the students do their presentations. As much as I wanted to go home my heart said just stay! Lemme just say this.... Everyday on my job is a learning experience and Im so glad the students felt comfortable sharing their All about Me presentations with me! I learned so much about each one of the students and one even made the whole class get teary Eyed! I seen myself in so many of them as they nervously got in front of the class to share their stories. I was once each one of those scared students. I was once hopeless and thought Id never amount to anything. The Literacy Council made me who I am today and although I am still shy and still hate to face new things listening to those students tonight gave me the exact push I needed for this new position. I am not who I once was and I refuse to allow fear to hold me back after all of the challenges I have faced and conquered! #youcanbeanythingyouwanttobe!
