Let me start with this is not directed at any one person but if you are offended that probably means you are guilty of one of the actions I mention. First let me start with divorce is between two spouses not between a parent and a child. Just because you divorce your spouse does not negate your responsibilities as a parent. Just because your spouse divorces you does not mean they are no longer a parent to your child(ren). Marriage and parenting are two separate deals. Second dont allow your new spouse to come between you and your old children. If your new spouse has an issue with you having to take responsibility for your old family then they probably should not have married you. Third dont do for your new child(ren) what you wouldnt do for your old. If youd take a special trip or buy a special gift with your new that you wouldnt do for your old then dont do it. Lastly if you have to lie, steal from, or otherwise manipulate your children they will hate you for it later. If your ex spouse is truly that horrible of a person your children will figure it out on their own. They dont need your help, and they will hate you for it later. Again this is not directed at any one person but if for some reason you think it applies you its time re-evaluate your life.
