Let me tell you about my sista Trish Koelzer. Yep, weve had our moments, some that lasted years...sad, but true. We live very far apart and have most of our lives! Very little time in person! I had cancer once before, cervical cancer and had a hysterectomy at a young age. No chemo or anything like that...just surgery. I was a single Mom and on my own with two small girls. Trish lived in a beautiful beach home on Ono Island in Orange Beach. She arranged for my girls to stay with their Dad and she checked me out of the hospital. Not only did she nurse me every single day for nearly two weeks, she had purchased a huge, Henry VIII bed, I felt like the Princess and the Pea! I couldnt see the floor when I was piled so high in that incredible bed! She decorated the room, placed a portable DVD player on the bed, left a blank journal and pens, stacked movies to the ceiling, magazines, books and a stuffed, crazy-looking poodle with pink ribbons on its ears, at the foot of the bed to make me laugh! And sprayed it with lavender as well as the sheets, pillow cases, blankets! Every meal was hand-prepared and delivered on a tray, placed by my bedside along with my medications and an array of beverages, four times a day! All of this plus the $4,000 she paid the hospital before they would even touch me! I had never been treated so well before that time and I will never forget it! No matter what happens, if I never get to see her again, in person, shes in my heart! Shes in my prayers! Shes my sister! I am blessed! Now shes not well, unable to drive or travel and yall know my story...you never know when your last time is being spent with your loved ones...that recovery was my last time with my sister! I just want her and everyone to know that Im so thankful for that time with her!
