Let me vent about the Italian edition of The Huffington Post. Many - TopicsExpress

Let me vent about the Italian edition of The Huffington Post. Many of their articles, particularly blog posts, are translations of English material from the US version of the site. Until a while ago, they were hideously translated, and not once the name of the translator was reported. Now they do say who the translator is. More often than not, someone who blogs for them, who is a journalist, a writer, just ANYTHING except a professional translator. And it shows, people. It definitely does. Now I wonder: could it be so difficult to find and hire a professional?
