Let the FCC know its proposed actions to E-Rate dont add up! School Internet connectivity is in danger of being on a per pupil expenditure. AUGH!!!! The FCC must hear from us!!!! How can you help? Why do we need to do this??? Because. . . Today, six national organizations representing the nation’s rural education community will release a joint statement expressing disappointment and frustration with the Federal Communication Commission’s recently announced proposed changes to the E-Rate program. Representing educators, administrators, rural state associations and federally impacted districts, the letter highlights the groups’ general concerns with the proposal, as well as identifying the aspects most problematic to the nation’s rural schools. The FCC is scheduled to vote on July 11 on a set of changes to the E-Rate,that not only jeopardizes an 18 year program of success, but also looks to per pupil spending that threatens internet connectivity in schools. We must do our best to change the FCCs intent to the changes planned for E-Rate!!!
