Let us be candid about the ultra-right Tea Party and GOP strategies for dealing with the twice-successful election of a black American POTUS. Retrospectively, it appears that the ultra-right has focused on the public display of contempt and derision towards the president. The recent racist and inflammatory comments delivered by a speaker at a Tea Party rally, while prominent Republicans in the audience stood silent, and the GOP support of the Missouri fair rodeo clown are only the most flagrant examples. These actions are tactical maneuvers intended to denigrate the black POTUS, hoping to attenuate white American support for any future black American who aspires to become POTUS. After all, in the GOP Tea Party’s view and ideology, this is a white country and “privilege” is the domain of only white American males. To be sure, the GOP Tea Party tactics are irritants; but these tactics pale in comparison to the significance of the overarching GOP strategy for fiscal and legislative obstruction, to prevent the orderly execution of U.S. governance. The Grand GOP Political Strategy and the GOP Tea Party strategy of contempt and derision of the POTUS complement each other.
