Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. Galatians 5:26 When I was younger I intentionally tried to provoke others. I bragged about what I had or what I was doing or who I was with. I had know idea how wrong it was. It helped my little self feel a little bigger. I also have been on the other side of it. There have been periods in my life when I envied others. When I hated myself. Observing others I wanted to be like them. I either felt better than others or I thought they were better than me. Constantly sizing others up. I was either jealous or tried to provoke jealously. What a terrible way to live. It was like a prison. I wish I could say that I dont think like that anymore, but I still find myself in and out of that trap. At times I still brag, and I still feel jealous. The difference today is that I recognize how dangerous and wrong both are. I think they lead to most of the problems that I see going on all around me. People kill because they are provoked. People provoke to promote themselves causing others to hate. I also have been given a key to this prison the answer to end the trap of this ugly thought process. The answer is the HOLY SPIRIT. HIS spirit is loving and kind and good and he has given me HIS Spirit. Father dont let me drink the Hateraide. Help me acquire a thirst for Creatoraide. Help me become more like YOU, by helping me learn to use the gifts of the HOLY SPIRIT. Help me love and admire others, instead of envying. Help me serve and encourage others, instead of provoking. Help me forget about me.
