Let us pray for the Nineteen Firefighters who lost their lives and for their families and friends, Lord we lift to you our prayers for the souls of those firefighters who have lost their lives in battling the wild fires that rage near Prescott, Arizona. May these valiant firefighters be given swift entry into heaven and may their families and friends take comfort in the knowledge that they now are with you and those whom have gone before in service to our fellow man. Give to these nineteen souls a special place within your heart and may they always have such a place within our own. Where those who care for others, placing the needs of all ahead of their own. Following your example dear Lord, even to the point of death for those they love and for what they believe. Comfort those who now mourn the loss of fellow firefighters, family members and friends. May they seek you out dear Lord in this time of great tragedy, and may you hold them within the palm of your hand. Giving to them shelter from the sorrow that rages within their hearts and comfort their minds who’s thoughts are charred in sorrow. Keep is safety Oh Lord, our brothers and sisters who fight the flames that would steal their lives or the lives those we serve in times of great need and danger. Be with us and let us feel thy presence, as we walk the smoke filled rooms or amidst the fire topped timber. Place upon us dear Lord, The Armor of God, for it gives us strength to face the foe, be it fire or some other disaster. We feel thy presence and the tough of thy hand be it here in Gouverneur or on the hillside slopes of Arizona, we fight on knowing that you are always there. So dear Lord, we pray to you for our fallen brothers and sisters each day, and know in our hearts that they serve now with you, watching and hearing and giving a hand whenever the need arises high. For firefighters never say quit, never lie down or retire. They simply continue to serve, for Angels wings are protected from fire. Give rest dear Lord to those who have served and paid the price so that others may live in safety. Amen. Amen.
