Lets Create Something Together by Jeff Prager Id like to start an internet magazine that could, might, maybe, gain enough monthly downloads to be profitable, one day. Senior Magazine was a monthly print tabloid with 52 - 90 or so pages. It was really fun and this can be even more fun! Maybe we can one day make a buck. A small investment that might have a large payoff someday. That would be up to you, the employees. Im the publisher-coordinator and I handle PDF design and final output. Well have a table of contents, a structure with feature stories and columns, like any real magazine or newspaper. Ill take suggestions from everyone that participates in the endeavor on the eMagazine design after the first issue and well go from there. I believe theres a need for an eMagaine that addresses current political issues in a professional, pro-people, pro-transparency in government, anti-banking usury, pro-honest money, and anti-war context and hope to have writers from the UK, Ireland, the Middle East, South and Central America, Canada, European countries, Ukraine, everywhere, anywhere and everywhere. You can virtually pick your position by taking charge and writing a monthly column with a theme OR working in distribution, graphics and sales. To get the eMagazine in front of the most people while maintaining informative data on readership, the distribution manager will be responsible for internet links posted with retailers, reputable web sites and other locations to maximize downloads in a drive to produce advertising revenue through downloads. Developing unique methods for distribution, like tying downloads to other incentives, are one of the things I have in mind. As a graphic designer youll get the text for feature stories, monthly stories and columns and other text along with a page count and your page designs are your own, as long as the text is easily readable. Pages will be accepted in these formats: InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator only, or as a PDF. Initially people involved in sales can look for advertising tie-ins to stories, allow advertisers to place free ads, and develop relationships with potential paid advertisers, perhaps through a day job in the advertising industry? If and when distribution can generate enough monthly downloads, well see about selling advertising for dollars. Well need bold advertisers for a bold eMagazine. Perhaps in 12 or 24 months, or sooner? we can generate enough downloads to sell advertising. Anyone at all can now write, pseudonyms are ok, although real names are encouraged. You dont have to be connected to me, and I dont even have to know you. Please use sources and try to produce material thats accurate. EVERY MONTH by the 10th, well need reviews of books and movies, maybe advice on organic foods, perhaps some cutting edge sports writers that can handle the latest sports trends, people to write feature stories, anti-GMO material, anti-Vaccine material, quality stuff please, poetry, recipes, maybe something monthly about alternative transportation, alternative lifestyles, growing your own food, raising chickens, a comfortable, easy to read, yet cutting edge magazine, thats free on the internet—no web site needed. With something for everyone. Just like Senior Magazine was when it was printed. How about something monthly on banking crime? What about a monthly column on propaganda? Id like to find someone to write a monthly column on Anarchic Philosophy which should include the most well known philosophers of Anarchic theory. Well need a grinding, cutting edge writer to tackle national politics. Id like someone to write about current music by unknown and yet to be famous bands, music of all sorts. Maybe something every month on Indy films? And how about a monthly column from Pakistan or Afghanistan and New York, Los Angeles and Egypt. Anywhere. Submit something and well go from there. Someone might want to write about gold or money every month. Is there a budding Ellen Brown out there? Science and technology? A monthly conspiracy theory column? Lets discuss pressing issues, real issues, and provide a well-rounded perspective on the world at the same time, if we can. Always wanted to write? Heres your chance! Ill commit to creating a 180-page (90 magazine spreads) eMagazine every month that opens fully in PDF format on any wide screen monitor with your writing. Does that work? What do you want to call it? Email me with ideas for the name of the eMag, for distribution and of course send me your best written words. Well put this together and maybe one day well all be talking to each other on conference calls. Id like to have the first issue out between November 20th and December 20th, 2014 as the premier January 1, 2015 issue with a deadline of October 20th for material. I want 25% of revenue generated, net revenue, if we ever generate any. The rest of the staff splits the remaining 75% evenly. Everyone contributes. If things go well you should have between .5% and 1% of the net profits one day, if we end up with between 75 and 150 total contributors—writers, artists and distributors. Writers, distributors and graphic artists might even eventually get paid for their work. No promises. Its really up to all of you. Im the coordinator.
