Lets Wave them In day -- yesterday I was a passenger in the car ... my daughter is learning to drive. Shes 16 and a little intimidated by the aggressive drivers. My daughter made a decision to make a right turn when the lane was open ... a decision I more than agreed was safe. Suddenly a woman in a chevy Tahoe, white with Texas tags, was behind us honking, and tailgating. This woman was 100 yards or more away when my daughter made the turn. The other driver proceeded to honk and tailgate and I turned around and she flipped me off ... bigtime. and you know what I mean. I turned back around, she continued to honk and tailgate all the way to the four way stop where she made a right turn. My friends want to know why I didnt follow her and give her a piece of my mind... I just had a moment where I was more interested in helping my daughter manage her feelings when another driver is raging. Stay calm and move on. I know it must have been disappointing that my teenager, who is more careful than most, wanted to drive on the road too while this woman was clearly in a hurry. I cant stop other people from being in a hurry, but this week if someone is needing to merge, or turns slower, or needs to pass you... just move over and wave them on, or wave them in. Maybe its the weather here. Or the talk radio has them in a bad mood. Whatever it is, we cant change it. Just be kind. Wave them in. Im going to try it too.
