Lets brainstorm village! Transportation is a HUGE expensive challenge when trying to educate students with physical disabilities in Palestine. The Israeli checkpoints separate the Palestinian towns from each other so you cant get from Ramallah to Bethlehem without going through a checkpoint. Gas is $8 a gallon and checkpoints = traffic (and dehumanization and barking dogs) and you need a wheelchair accessible gas guzzling vans. Oh and the kids fear soldiers and sometimes the checkpoint triggers panic and they cry and thats no way to start a school day.
