Lets chat. :) For those of you fortunate enough to have known your great grandmother, whats one material thing that reminds you of her and gives comfort? (Feel free to join in if you only know as far back as grandma). I knew two of my great grandmothers in life. The one I was totally attached to was my Big Grandma (some nickname huh? Lol) or Vera Lorraine being her birth name. The first silent films I ever saw were while I spent time with her (she was born in 1905 but wasnt interested much in the old films, the music from the tv just helped me stay asleep....at least in theory lol) I remember afghan blankets. Gaudy colored afghan blankets. I found a gaudy Afghan blanket at the second hand store and I had to have it. Even though it never belonged to Big Grandma, it triggered those memories that bring me comfort and im wrapped up in it right now! Very important when sick or hurting. I love her and miss her everyday! Heres my blanket and a picture of Big Grandma in the 1930s I believe with her dog Shorty. :)
