Lets discuss methanol! This was my first year running my new 496 bbc methanol combo and being a former sbc C16/nitrous combo I learned a lot! :) 1st alky is a pain in the arse to get heat in the engine in cool temps, even with a lean out valve and a block heater helping. 2nd alky unlike race gas likes a specific temperature to run consistent and on my combo that was 150 to 160 at the water box. 3rd there is a huge difference in M1 and M5 if both are tuned correctly!! And lastly even though you use twice the amount than race fuel the cost is still much less using alky! One other thing, if you preheat your engine with a lean out valve and block heater you WILL NOT FOUL YOUR OIL if your tune is correct and you are running enough vacuum with a vacuum pump. Whats your results?
