Lets examine, Trusting in God, risking being burnt alive! Daniel 3:17 - 18 New International Version If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majestys hand But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that ( we will not serve your gods ) or worship the image of gold you have set up Hananiah/Shadrach; and to Mishael/Meshach; and to Azariah/Abed-nego, they understood the that God is Omnipotent! ( Omnipotent ) is from the Latin omni- (all) and potent- (power), and when the word is applied to God, it means He is all-powerful. If God is the Creator of all things ( Genesis 1:1 ), it follows that He must have power over all things at all times. God is free to do anything He wants, and He has the power to do! They did not contrive an evasive answer, when a direct answer was expected. Those who make their duty their main care, need not be anxious or fearful concerning the event. The faithful servants of God find him able to control and overrule all the powers armed against them. Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst. If He be for us, we need not fear what man can do unto us. God will deliver us, either from death or in death. They must obey God rather than man; they must rather suffer than sin; and must not do evil that good may come. Rechats! Rechats! The Hebrew word ( rechats ) means “rely on, put one’s trust in, and is used in Daniel chapter 3 when it said that Daniel’s three friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, trusted in God. They relied upon the Lord in the sense of remaining totally loyal to Him, refusing to worship the idol King Nebuchadnezzar set up and risking being burnt alive.
