Lets get October off to a good start and vote for the Green Mountain Club! Vote here: pcconstruction/donations/ GMC has been selected as one of ten Waterbury, VT organizations eligible to be awarded up to $10,000 by PC Construction, a Vermont-based company currently working on the Waterbury State Office Complex that was destroyed during Tropical Storm Irene in 2011. We all remember the day the GMC field staff was called down from the mountains and out of the woods as Tropical Storm Irene blew through Vermont. Unable to work on the Long Trail System, the Long Trail Patrol and backcountry Caretakers spent a week working in hard-hit downtown Waterbury helping residents and businesses haul heavy, muddy, destroyed possessions out to the yards and streets (see field staff in photo below). Even the office staff went down to lend a hand. The devastation to our small community was difficult to see but knowing our field staff was on the scene helping made us all feel a little better. And a lot proud.
