Lets get something straight by the by. For reasons passing understanding--I guess its in part because theyre both crime shows that came out around the same time?-- some people have compared True Detective to Fargo. Heres the deal. Theyre not in the same league. Theyre not in the same sport. Theyre barely on the same friggin planet. Heres how theyre connected: Fargo is basically True Detectives dim cousin. True Detective has to go down to the factory where he works and beg his boss to give Fargo a job. Hes not bright but let him mop up the floor or something. Hes family.
