Lets go back to proteins because there are so many other sources other than animal protein. There are 22 amino acids. Humans need 20 of them. Nine of them are essential, meaning our bodies dont necessarily make them. So here are some vegetarian options that I LOVE! Please remember that everyone is a bio-individual, meaning what is someones elixir of life is someone elses poison. We will get into more of this. Beans: All kinds, must be soaked, and rinsed before cooking. Time differences vary but I have found any bean I want to eat if I soak it 12 hours Im covered! Soak just like nuts and seeds. If you soak 1 cup of dried beans when you cook add 2 cups of water or veggie broth. The beans as they cook will get a foam on top skim this off. You can also add a piece of kombu, this will add flavor to you beans, aid in cooking time and makes for a very rich flavorful bean! Bean suggestions: Pinto Lentil (red and green are my faves!) Adzuki Mung Lima Navy There are more but I want to keep it simple and choose what pops out at you! Grains also have protein Millet Quinoa Oats Oats are technically gluten free but are contaminated on shared equipment but you can find clean gluten free oats! Grains ares soaked in the same way! Makes for creamy yumminess! A very yummy breakfast idea: Cook your soaked 1/2 cup soaked oats in 1 cup water when cooked add ceylon cinnamon, berry of choice, pinch himalayan salt, 1 TBLS. raw honey and 1/2 cup coconut milk! Will post where to get THE best coconut milk not in a can! Avoid cans!! We will get to this too!! Much to do! Much to do! Leafy greens: Kale Chard Collard Again there are so many more but keep it simple! Experiment and find out what sings to you! Always adding spices and Himalayan salt at the end of cooking so the beans will soften nicely! Enjoy! OXOX :)
