Lets hope I don’t lose friends over this one. LOL but wanted to present yet another example of how words invoke preconceived thought and bias by their very mention. Here is a realization that merits to be brought to light, to be debated, and if possible, rebutted as misguided thought. My statement is: All political parties are Special Interest Groups. The failure to realize this fact is our Counties downfall. Supporting rhetoric: Definition of the title: Special Interest Group It is a body of persons, a corporation, or an industry that seeks or receives benefits or privileged treatment, esp. through legislation. Spanned powers of influence that exceeds local concerns. Example: Only in Fayette County Pa will you find a Fayette County Pa voter / resident (unless dislocated or departed for a brief amount of time, yet maintains legal residence in the US of only being their primary residence.) That county voter isn’t likely to propel an idea or support a motion that would be in the best interest of.... say Salt Lake City, Nebraska. So it is safe to say, a? Citizen” affiliated voter, or simply an “American” voter would more likely not hold alternate agenda’s other then those of their county. In ANY given County, in ANY given State, you will find a Republican, Democrat, Tea Party, and Independent. (Yes, I included Independent because to declare even that, you have invoked bias, and preconceived ideas) How can the allegiance of with those that are outside your given level of government sharing collected ideologies, group gains, desire for the PARTY expansion possibly provide the level of government within your community keeps the communities best interest above their declared party agenda’s be that they are overt or covert. Ever try to state you have no party affiliate? What is the result? Thoughts????
