Lets hope that Uefa fine Manchester City FC and make sure they cant cant compete in next seasons Champions League due to them being over the Financial Fairplay Guidelines Manchester City could find themselves in hot water with Uefa over Financial Fair Play, which could lead to positive implications for Arsenal or Everton in their quest for Champions League football next season. City are on the verge of a severe rap from football’s governing body for failing to comply with FFP, according to the Daily Telegraph. This is because they have brought the likes of Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Javi Garcia and Matija Nastasic, City posted a loss of £149m between 2011-2013 – Financial Fairplay (FFP) rules forbid clubs making losses in excess of £37.2 million over that period after certain exceptions are taken into account. It means that if City fail to provide new evidence in the next 48 hours to support claims they’ve played by the rules in their bid to balance the books (their £350million sponsorship deal with Etihad being under particular scrutiny), they are likely to be found guilty of FFP and be hit with either a heavy fine or transfer embargo. At this time, expulsion from the Champions League is not reportedly on the table. But if Everton FC and Arsenal feel that Man City have been treated to lightly then they can contest it if they think the ban is to lenient. If Manchester City were found guilty of breaching FFP, but still allowed entry into next season’s Champions League, the club finishing in fifth place in the Premier League could challenge the punishment and, if successful could potentially take City’s place. metro.co.uk/2014/04/15/how-arsenal-or-everton-could-potentially-nick-manchester-citys-champions-league-place-through-financial-fair-play-4699511/
