Rush Limbaugh dissed georgetown co-ed Sandra Fluke for a portion of three days and lost 13 sponsors. Slop radio in general and stations pwr. 92.3 and wgci 107.5 in particular disrespect our sistas on a 24/7/365 schedule. They didnt even take easter Sunday off! We are in the midst of a campaign that is about to enter its 9th month and we struggle to even get a decent conversation with the owner operator of this, the first Black owned Mikki Dees in the country about their sponsorship. Ex. yesterday morning early as we were monitoring wgci we heard a mcdonalds commercial and the next song that was played was , (them hoes aint) Loyal. These stations play musick that inundated the minds of the masses of our children with songs that constantly call them bi*ches, ni**ers, thots, etc. The musick constantly - back to back to back to back to back forcefeeds us a steady audio diet full of hard liquor, mollys, misogny, self-hate, materialism, murder, blatant disrespect of our ancestors, etc. Its a wonder that we are not more messed up. We struggle to get people to participate with us during these peacefull demonstrations. A couple of folks whom have been out with us previously have said that, they move on from these type of demonstrations and one even said that he was bigger than these demos. However, we know that during the last month we can count on both of our hands the total number of people who have came out to support. Thats Crazy! We are sharing this because we really need the people with us to stand up against the audio rape of the minds of our babies. Weve got to Clear The Airwaves!
