Lets move back to modern classical compositions for a set. Henryk - TopicsExpress

Lets move back to modern classical compositions for a set. Henryk Gorlecki was a Polish composer whose greatest work was entitled, Symphony of Sorrowful Songs. Its a powerful piece that tells the story of all those who died in the Holocaust. The first time I heard the whole symphony I literally wept. I have seen this symphony performed live with singers, choir and the L.A. Philharmonic Orchestra. Unbelievable. This is part of the Third Movement. Please listen to it in its entirety. From this point forward I dedicate the rest of tonights show to our dear friend and a great friend and patron of the show, John Reed, whose birthday it is today, and who would have loved this music. Happy Birthday, my brother. Peace...
