Lets reflect for a moment on the second most popular movie in history. Titanic.. (yes I hear you groan from here). Ok, its cheesy, and its got THAT bloody Celine Dion song which try as you may, deletes all memories in your head and creates a nice little nest in it. It drove ALL of us crazy. Kate Winslet (who is an amazing actress btw) delivers probably the worst performance of her career - Jack! Jack! Oh shut up. There was plenty of room on the makeshift raft anyway. And poor old Leo got so pissed that he didnt win an Oscar. Didnt even get nominated. Well, get used to it buddy. Lets face it, we all love to hate this cinematic monstrosity directed by James Cameron. Or do we? Youre about to cry blasphemy now. I think Titanic not only is a good movie, its a great movie. Like any great movie it has an underlying love story, of a couple torn apart by the era they lived in. Brilliant special effects (for those days at least), a typical villain striving to tear the lovers apart. And of course the great doomed ship itself. Who doesnt love the story of the ill-fated RMS Titanic, the peak of engineering greatness, sent to a watery grave by Mother Nature herself? The screenplay is a bit cheesy even by Camerons standards, but on the whole the movies pace swallows you up and you cant help but feel youre one of the 1,400 people who bought a transatlantic ticket wrapped in bad luck. This is a cinematic masterpiece. So next time, give it a chance and see it for what it is, brilliant. 9.5/10 https://youtube/watch?v=ZQ6klONCq4s
