Lets take a look at the last 8 years under Mike Busch as Speaker of the House. 1) Spending in 2008 was 20.8 Billion. After 8 years we are spending 39.3 Billion - a 36% INCREASE. 2) Mike Busch oversaw a tax increase of 8.5 Billion. 3) Mike Busch helped increased taxes and fees 83 times! 4) The gas tax was increased AND is set to automatically increase annually - without a vote. 5) Income taxes raised 3 times. 6) Corporate taxes increased. 7) We even TAX the rain now. Seriously - Mike Busch refused to debate this. We TAX the rain. Think about this for a moment - what do we have to show for all of this growth in taxes? Not jobs. The unemployment rate in Maryland was at 4.5% in 2006. Today, under Mike Busch, the rate is 6%. The MD unemployment rate continues to rise as the rate in the United States continues to decline.
