Lets take a step back and take an honest look at what the ACA better known as Obamacare really means to you and your family. For now we will forget about the nonworking website and assume you can jump on, sign up and roll with it. Lets take a stroll through a Government run Healthcare System that has been in business for a very long time. Veteran Hospitals administered by the Veterans Administration. (VA) The origin of the VA Hospitals dates to the first federal military veterans hospital (Hand Hospital) in Pittsburgh in 1778. Until the 1980s, it was known as VAs Department of Medicine and Surgery. Its primary purpose then and now has been to ensure Veterans receive timely access to the highest quality medical benefits and services we can provide and which they earned through their sacrifice and service to our Nation. The VA 2014 Budget request for 2014 is $152.7 billion. This includes $66.5 billion in discretionary resources and $86.1 billion in mandatory funding. Our current US population is 330 million. Out of that 330 million we currently have 21.2 million living military veterans. Out of 21.2 million 3.6 million are on disability and a total of 8 million veterans (including the 3.6 million disabled) actively use the VA. When a veteran files a claim for benefits with the VA it currently takes the government a year to process and validate that claim. Once approved it currently takes the government an additional 125 days to act on it so that the veteran can start receiving his or her services. Okay, so what does all this have to do with me? Im not a veteran! Well, this has everything to do with you. If it takes $157 Billion a year to provide services to only 8 million of which 3.6 million are already active in the system and 1.5 years to start receiving services how long are you going to have to wait for medical care if your doctors tells you You Have Cancer once Obamacare is fully implemented and you are now just one out of 330 million data points? Where is the money for your treatment going to come from? $157 Billion to serve 8 million. Do the math for 330 million! Hmmmmmmm, starts to get personal now, doesnt it? The slow and cumbersome service at the VA is due to bureaucracy not a lack of money. The failed roll out of the healthcare.gov site was due to incompetency, not a lack of money. Once you get in the system under Obamacare do you really think wait times and services will improve? Hey, Welcome to the Club. You can expect bureaucracy and very limited funding. Well, you have one thing on your side. Democrats have promised us that there are no Death Panels in Obamacare. Really! Yes, the same Democrats that exempted themselves and Their Families from a great program they came up with just for You and your family.
