Lets talk a little about the design and validity of this study. It is an impressive and long report titled The International Status of Education About the Holocaust, printed by #UNESCO and carried out by the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research. Seems like a reliable source, right? Just finished reading the original study. They claim that the term Holocaust does not appear in the school history curricula in Ukraine (that is one of their data selection criteria). And that is... incorrect information. I ran a search on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and found the curricula for Word History and History of Ukraine, and both courses cover the Holocaust and DO use this term in the curricula. And these terms appear in current Ukraine textbooks (I remember that much from high school). Ukraine has standardized curricula for the whole country. So... I expect a response from Dr. Carrier to my long and detailed email about these results. I wonder whether this report adequately presents information on other countries.
