Lets talk about pigs. Not a week goes by that we dont get asked to take in pigs. This current fad of having a pet pig inside your house has created almost an emergency situation for rescues. People get piglets thinking they will stay small and be a good house pet but once that 2lb piglet turns into a 100lb(or more) pig inside their house, they realize neither are true. I know their are exceptions to every rule but as my daughter Mia will tell you, having a micro mini pig isnt always fun. Trooper is that rare exception, he is currently 6lbs and full grown. Most would think that he would then be the perfect house pet. Mia will tell you otherwise. She loves Trooper and he adores her, so much in fact that she is the only one that can get near him. If anyone else tries, he makes a noise no one should have to listen too. Trooper is 6lbs but Trooper is all Pig. He is litter box trained, so hes very clean but he has the attitude of a 100lb pig. Just last night I heard Mia yelling from her room. At first I thought she was yelling at me but then it became apparent her and Trooper were having an argument. You see pigs are very bossy, when he wants Mia to do something and she doesnt, he screams at her, punches her with his nose and at times will bite her. Pigs are very persistent and dont give up easily. Last night she wasnt doing what he wanted. After some time in his kennel(in time out) he finally got his way. I swear hes smiling in this video(with his bff Watermelon). Sheriff was one of our lucky pigs, he was adopted by a great family but they have a farm and he has appropriate living quarters in the barn. Hes now enjoying a very happy pig life. So, if you want a house pet, please stick to a dog or cat.
