Nitros court hearing to address the SIGNED and WITNESSED contract I had with the owner to release him and the kennels to Girard Lifesaver should he go back on the chain and the Animal Cruelty was held on DECEMBER 10th, 2014 and since the owner claimed she did not have her drivers license on her to compare signatures on the agreement she signed Judge Wymberly said he was going to postpone the court date until January 2015. Several FB followers have called requesting the court date and are being told they do not have the calendar for the dates yet. according to an article in The True Citizen News, the court date will be heard in FEBRUARY. Nitro to my knowledge STILL has not seen a vet and by the time he does I presume his injuries (ingrown toenails, raw neck from the chain and malnourishment will be some better (hopefully) Although when I checked on him several nights ago before the temps went down in the low teens, he looked very skinny, and I could see his backbone. He also had NO straw in his box and I had to call the SO to report this. Hopefully he received some. Anyone who cares about an animal would not have to be told. He was curled up in a ball outside his house and I am hoping his chain wasnt wrapped around the tree he is tethered to so he cant even get in house. I view this as similar to a case of child abuse, although yes, we are talking about an animal but since when do the powers that be give the offender time to get the child WELL and then say they are ok after several months? They would have taken that child immediately for protection, NOT let the offender to continue to care for them. We are not talking about what Nitro (Tuff) the nick name given him by his owners THREE months from now, we are addressing his condition and treatment when the complaint was filed and the past 7+ years of abuse he has suffered thus far. I REALLY dont get it and since I wrote Nitro as the dogs name on the agreement which is what I and two witness heard her tell me and that they called him Tuff that the judge doesnt try to use this as an out from the agreement. I have pictures and everyone has seen them of the brand new kennels with (Tuff) in them from March of 2014. I asked the owner several times to let me take him to the vet for shots and to get his nails cut and each time I was told we are going to take him or we have an appointment next week. It never happened and it still hasnt to my knowledge and probably wont. This case as sooo many cases similar will be pushed under the rug or a way found to avoid the contract she signed. Animals will continue to suffer in Burke County until there is a compassionate judge in our magistrate court who cares about the welfare and abuse of our animals. Im done! I have done all I can do and the rest is in Gods hands and the citizens and people on FB who care about this dog. Pray he doesnt die in these frigid temps or on another thought perhaps then, his suffering will be over. Meanwhile, the kennels she stated in court II could have sit empty and could be put to good use with other needy animals but the owner will not give a date to get them unless it is 5:30 or later thus putting me taking them down and moving in the dark.
