Letter I wrote to a writer with the LA times regarding an article on Detroit: GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT! First off, they have not released the race of the person that shot Renisha McBride, second off, your article is completely full of bias and BS information. You are the worst type of person in the media, and due to your writing, in my eyes and many others in Michigan your article make me question any and all credibility of the LA Times, nice yellow journalism jackass. Here is what you left out: Renisha McBride went back to look for help 2 hours after the car accident, the shooters race HAS NOT been identified as of 11/12/13! Midtown Detroit the small redeveloped area is not small, there is also a major hospital (Henry Ford Health Center) and a major college (Wayne State University), and is and area with a population that is 68% African American No mention of Sam Riddles years in prison on corruption charges or in general of Kwame Kilpatricks recent sentence of 28 years for corruption (the biggest contribution to the citys problems) Detroit residents had plenty of them to try and sort this issue out, roughly 4 years and the bankruptcy filing was a mutual agreement with the city and the state as per the emergency manager law. Gross Pointe hast been plagued with corruption like Detroit. Those are some of your lies. To say anything about bankruptcy filing in Detroit is racially motivated is pure bullshit. Go get a job at CNN or Fox, you would fit in just fine there! Matt Hastings
