Letter Telling FDA to protect public health, not animal factories. My comment to them: The pharmaceutical industry has been selling the Food & Agra Industry livestock antibiotics with feed, as a matter of course, to increase the bottom line, since the end of WWII, and continuing now in this “industrial model” for Food, Inc. The first antibiotics were employed wide-spread before the first human studies were conducted—to prescribe the same to humans; way before the notion caught on that strains of bacteria actually have built in mechanisms to develop resistance. Who Knew?! Some knowledgeable folks did; but it’s an inconvenient notion to those in a position to benefit from the larger and larger markets that breed something in humans, called not drug resistance—so much as GREED. That greed has bred antibiotic resistance probably more than the pathogens, themselves. Why? Because corporations cooperating to consolidate pervasive influence have been given legislative and court passes so CEOs and Managing Directors don’t have to assume full responsibility for their exclusively, self-interested corporate missions: that priority of maximizing profit over all other matters; because by law, that is what the charters allowed by our government enables them to do. That generates this “gamble” mentality, with our collective health as an expense we bare, not them. How cozy can this relationship get! You who foster an FDA that leads by legalistic definitions, protocols on every front now designed to fund obscuring the fundamental truth that corporate agendas have inherent conflict of interest where our collective health is not even weighed in the balance; whereby greed beyond legitimate profit has become a prime mover and shaker and determinate force of what the Pharmaceutical model, now Western Medicines mantra, given reign by the FDA to enable pharmaceutical marketers to encourage consumers to ask your doctor if this commercial Rx is for you? is the cherry on their industry cake of “free markets;” whose best interests serve whom? We observe them celebrating you for giving your priorities over to doing their unending bidding. In this version of reality TV, it is you, your decisions that make us sick, the more we notice you on the wrong side between Might vs. right.
