Letter from Mr. Morgan Levy January 14, 2015 The Honorable Mayor Luigi Boria Vice Mayor Sandra Ruiz and Doral Council Members Ana Maria Rodriguez, Peter Cabrera, Christi Fraga I first want to thank the Mayor for his decision not to provide Donald Trump with a Key To the City of Doral. I also want to thank Council Woman Fraga for her bold stand against attending the Miss Universe attractions due to the outrageous funding being supplied by the City of Doral. Now, I must respectfully question some of the quotes made by Mayor Boria, Vice Mayor Ruiz and Councilman Cabrera: Trump does not deserve my key is the quote in todays Miami Herald by Mayor Boria. Is it your key or is it the Key To The City of Doral? Has Donald Trump brought many jobs to Doral residents and companies? How many Doral companies and workers were used to upgrade the Doral Resort and to rebuild four golf courses while exchanging one (the White Course) for his commercial enterprises? Ill be supportive of it (referring to the Miss Universe Pageant). Trump has invested $300 million in our community said Councilman Cabrera in the same article. Donald Trump has only invested his money in his own enterprises in Doral while using his influence to get $2.5 million . promised from the City of Doral, plus having the City of Doral pick up all costs for Miss Universe travel, hotels, etc The only problem that approximately 4,000 Concerned Citizens of Doral have with the Miss Universe Pageant is Donald Trumps connection to it and the huge profits that he will enjoy while imposing serious quality of life and property value issues on Doral Citizens. 4,000 Doral Citizens is about one-tenth of the population of the City of Doral and that is about the percentage of Doral Citizens who are Concerned Citizens interested in the City of Doral and take the time to vote. It is unfortunate that everyone in Doral will not enjoy or attend the Miss Universe Pageant under these circumstances. The anticipated prestige being sought for Doral by our Mayor, Vice Mayor and two council members might showcase them attending the Miss Universe affairs but their attendance will be a reminder to the Concerned Citizens of Doral that they have opted in favor of Donald Trump instead of the welfare of many Doral Citizens. I extend my personal regret to Miss Universe President, Paula M. Shugart. Morgan I. Levy
