Letter of Gratitude Dear fellow students of Underwood International College, Hello, fellow UIC students, this is the elected 10th Student Council of Underwood International College, ‘PoTential’. We, first of all, thank you for the effort and support you have shown throughout the election period, which was a little longer than usual. We know the result would have not been the same without your interests and participation. With this letter, we would love to express our gratitude for all our fellow UIC students. Throughout the past nine years of history, UIC has grown into one of the largest departments in Yonsei, along with consecutive structural reforms and expansion. However, thus far, UIC has not yet established strong foundations and traditions on which it can stand and prepare for the next decade of its history. As the upcoming year marks the last year of the first decade of UIC, we strongly believe in the need for consolidation of the common identity of UIC student body, along with structural adjustments to maximize the means and channels to make our voices heard. To address the remaining issues and lay further foundations for the next chapter of our community, ‘PoTENtial’ will continue to build on to the works of previous student councils and improve on them so that UIC students of the next decade will have stronger foundations and long lasting traditions. Also, we promise to strive to bring more opportunities for active interactions within the student body, with alumni, and with other members in our community. Along with these internal affairs, we also will make our best efforts to represent our student body in the general Yonsei community and exert our utmost means to concrete our position within the Yonsei community. Again, we are well aware that we would not be where we are without your support and help, and we are sincerely grateful. However, instead of repeating more words of appreciation, we will show how much thankful we are with our hard works and commitment throughout our term. We hope the year 2015 will be a time of positive changes and successful consolidations. And we invite you on the journey we are about to take, towards the infinity and beyond. Thank you. The 10th UIC Student Council ‘PoTENtial’ 당선 사례 언더우드국제대학 학우 여러분께, 언더우드국제대학 학우 여러분 안녕하십니까? 저희는 새로이 선출된 제 10대 언더우드국제대학 학생회 ‘PoTENtial’입니다. 먼저, 여느 때보다 조금 길었던 선거기간 동안 보여주신 여러분의 노력과 성원에 감사 드립니다. 여러분의 관심과 참여 없이는 이 같은 결과가 불가능했다는 것 또한 너무나 잘 알고 있기에, 당선 사례를 통해 여러분께 감사의 말씀을 전합니다. 지난 9년의 역사 동안, 지속적인 구조적 변화와 확장을 통해 국제대는 이제 연세대학교의 대형 단과대 중의 하나가 되었습니다. 그러나 아직까지 국제대는 향후 10년의 발판이 될 확고한 기반과 전통을 다지지 못한 것 역시 사실입니다. 내년이 국제대의 첫 10년의 마지막 해인 만큼 저희는 국제대 전체를 아우르는 정체성과 우리의 목소리를 가장 잘 대변할 수 있는 구조적인 변화의 필요성을 통감하고 있습니다. 현재까지 지속되는 이러한 문제점들을 해결하고 미래를 위한 기반을 더욱 완고히 다져나가고자, 저희 ‘PoTENtial’은 전대 학생회들의 공로를 계승하고 또한 발전시켜 향후 10년의 학생들이 누릴 수 있는 전통과 기반을 닦을 것입니다. 또한, 학생사회 내부, 졸업생, 그리고 국제대 공동체의 다른 구성원들과의 원활한 소통을 위해 노력하겠습니다. 위와 같은 내부적인 일 이외에도 연세대학교 전체의 공동체에서도 우리의 목소리가 잘 전달될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠습니다. 끝으로 여러분의 성원과 도움 없이는 지금의 저희도 없다는 것을 잘 알고 있습니다. 그러나 감사하다는 말만을 반복하기 보다는 저희 임기 동안 저희의 최선의 노력과 헌신으로 여러분에 대한 감사의 마음을 표하려고 합니다. 다가오는 2015년이 우리 모두에게 긍정적인 변화와 정체성의 성공적인 확립의 해가 되기를 기원합니다. 그리고 저희가 걸어가려 하는 무한한 가능성의 길에 여러분께서도 동행해 주시기를 바랍니다. 감사합니다. 제 10대 언더우드국제대학 학생회 ‘PoTENtial’
