Letter to Dr Morgan Tsvangira i cc MDC-T NEC Re:Allow Job Wiwa Sikhala to contest at the congress. I hope I find you very well Mr President. I write to you as a concerned card carrying member of MDC-T and I would like to express my displeassure which I believe I also share with many other concerned party members. I refer you to the decision and announcement that Job Sikhala will not be allowed to contest for the post of Deputy Organising Secretary in the forth coming congress. It is against this background that I write to you. Let me start by reminding you Mr President that you are clearly on record calling for those who have deserted the party to come back. You gave them assurence that they will be allowed to contest any positions they fill like. Based on this pledge by you, Job Sikhala registered his interest in the Deputy Organising Secretary post. To support him, 5 provinces nominated him. MDC-T survival and existence is heavily supported by the massive numbers of grassroots and not the NEC. It is very much disheartening for a few individuals sitting in a boardroom with bottles of mineral water and fruit juices to simply say Job will not be allowed to contest for any post. This ill advised move does not only anger the grassroots, but also exposes you as a leader of double standards and one who can not fullfil his pledges. The move has als a potential of triggering massive resentment among the grassroots resulting you and the NEC becoming leaders of a party suffering from grassroots malnutrition. I now urge as a matter of urgency to reconsider this ill advised decision and allow the peoples will to prevail rather than satisfying a few individuals bent on self gratification and scoring personal goals. If you support that Job Sikhala should be allowed to contest, leave a comment below and send a message to the NEC to tell them that they are nothing without the grassroots. Livingstone Masamba.
