Letter to Grade 12 of 2015 Marvin Hlophe | Developmental Speaker I would like to start by saying, congratulations for making it to grade 12, you have done well and you deserve it, the hard work you devoted has paid off. No one can take that feeling away from you, you are a star and you deserve it. Now let’s talk about this year; Let this year not be about if you will pass or fail, but let it be about how many distinction you will get. Let it not be about excuses, why you failed or didn’t do well, let it be about reasons why you got that distinction. Instead of saying I CAN’T, remove the apostrophe T (‘t), and say I CAN. Instead of saying why you will not pass, spend time thinking about HOW you will pass. Start small; Dream Big! Be Practical, but be Bold and Audacious when you dream! The two interchange and interlink, a Big dream is just daydreaming if practicality is not applied, but Practicality is wasted on small dreams. So Aim high, But Shoot Low…Each day, wake up with an Agenda to Win, run today’s race, plan it out, tell someone, and soon you will be looking down from your mountain top, saying “ Oh what a view, what was all the fuss, If I can do it so can you!” Mom died when I was 11, never knew my father, climbed down the ladder of success instead of up, abused, molested, practically enslaved, and if I worked hard enough or was amusement enough, I would get a meal…So I decided to love school, love the subjects, love the teachers, anything I didn’t understand became a challenge/an Adventure…School loved me back, subjects adored me, and teachers lent a hand…fast track 10 years later, without funding, without family, without consistent help…I am a graduate at the University of KZN with four majors, the Founder of I Change Foundation, the Managing Director and Founder of I Change Consultants, I am a Young Pastor and I currently work for the No.1 Company in RSA-Unilever…Now tell me, what’s holding you back?
