Letter we gave to the comissioner on 01/08/13 To The Commissioner, Allahabad Subject: Request to initiate an inquiry into the Financial Bungling and mismanagement in Kamla Nehru Memorial Cancer Hospital ,also an inquiry into the land held on lease by kamla Nehru hospital for the construction of 500 bed cancer hospital since 1989 as reported in CAG reports. Dear Sir, The following points came to our notice when we filed RTI and inspected the CAG reports on Kamla Nehru Memorial Cancer Hospital 1.Kamla Nehru Hospital was given land on lease for construction of 500 bed hospital in 1989,the hospital also got grants from Japan in 1989 for the same,but till date the hospital is incomplete, an incomplete structure still haunts the city in the compound of the hospital.Every year it has been stated by the KMNH staff to the CAG that the hospital will be complete. 2.As reported in the CAG reports the State government gives a recurring grant of Rs 30 lac to the hospital since 1989 for 175 ,free of cost teaching beds but no such facility is given to the patients in the hospital. 3.As per CAG report Kamla Nehru hospital is keeping the grants received from state and central government to acquire interest which is haring the interests of the patients and hampering their treatment. 4.Also initiate an inquiry for various unanswered paras in CAG audit report of Kkamla Nehru Hospital since 1991 as they indicate a case of serious financial bungling by the hospital administration and trustees. We would request you to initiate and inquiry as soon as possible so that the people of this region do not have to suffer anymore because of corrupt practices and can get proper treatment at par with other Regional Cancer Centers in Kamla Nehru Memorial Hospital which is one of the 24 Regional cancer centers.
