(Dear sir/madam,) State why you are writing - 1 sentence. (I am writing with regards to... / I am writing in complaint of... / I am writing in response to... / I am writing to inquire....) Give more details about why you are writing (explain the complaint, ask for the information you want, describe the event, etc) State what you want from the recipient. (I would like a full refund / I would appreciate it if you give this matter your urgent attention / I would appreciate it if you could send more information.) Close with a standard line. (I look forward to your reply / I await your reply.) Say goodbye (yours faithfully) Enclosures: can be put at the top of a letter under the hello part (like a heading), or at the close with a standard line part or in the give more details part - use your best judgement!
