Letters From Home (Part 3) We spent our first night at her Mom - TopicsExpress

Letters From Home (Part 3) We spent our first night at her Mom and Dads, we slept together as one. (goes without saying, huh?) :-) The warmth she provided was what I had dreamed about for many months. We would never be separated like that, not ever again. Re-orientation wasnt difficult at all....only those mornings would sometimes feel so strange. Id awaken thinking I was still over there, but then....there she was, right next to me. It was all so very real. It took a little while to get the smell of that place cleared from my brain too. Just about all of my things smelled like Thailand. Kay goes.....ewe! A thorough laundering! (grin) It was all erased in no time, no more foreign odors. Well...of course I had showered, my smell was purely Old Spice.....she soaked it up, along with ME.....and oh so lovingly! :-) We had no vehicle.....sold ours. Kay still wasnt driving, that car would have just sat a full year, not ever a good idea. She had her drivers license, just didnt care to drive, not until Beth Ann came along, 1970, then, she almost had to, quickly becoming second nature for her. One of our 1st priorities, and always a favorite for me.....CAR SHOPPING! I wont bore you with the particulars, but we found our car in short order! The first place we stopped? The Dairy Queen.....hers, a strawberry sundae, mine....a Chocolate Shake and hot dog with mustard. (LOL) Our tastes hadnt changed any, though prices had increased....some. Kays suggestion....lets get away, total privacy! I liked her style, loved her passion even more, often to take my imagination into exotic places! :-) Close enough, the Washington Trail Motel in Follansbee, special weekly rates. Oh....what a deal. (grinning) No worries....telling her mom....we wont be coming home.....nights. Déjà vu...something is very familiar here! :-) Mom understood.....a wink and a smile. We had us a blast.....sometimes not even waiting for darkness, dont you know? The time of day never ruled us...Freedom!! We had a lot of catching up to do anyway....love starvation? Oh....to be young again, the thrill of those days! You remember....you just have to remember, surely you do? My reporting date....August 15th, southern Georgia, never had she been so far from home. We gathered road maps, every state along the way, our route carefully marked. I made it perfectly clear.....its your choice....to go with me or not. She looked at me strangely....youre kidding me, right? Honey, youre my wife, not my slave, and Im not a dictator. It was settled quickly, and I didnt get hurt.....my hinting of separation again, so preposterous to her. Where ever you go....Im going with you! I knew she would say that, I just didnt want to appear to be all that presumptuous, just kind of threw it out there. My bad! :-) I calculated reasonable mileage driven per day, never late night....knowing she wouldnt handle it very well. Those details she left up to me. Kay, we should leave on the 10th....giving ourselves plenty of time. Her mom drifted into melancholy, the inevitable just ahead. Oh how she cried, the morning we departed. We promised to call everyday, our progress, where we were. We would, without fail. Once again into the unknown....another adventure, new things to see.....new experiences to accumulate. She was a real trooper....and a wonderful passenger, my side-kick. (grin) Two pillows, a blanket.....she snoozed if she pleased, adequate room....for a car. Not much past dusk, shelter was never a chore to find. Wed start looking. How about there? Holiday Inn our favorite, always knowing they would be nice....and CLEAN...with a restaurant close by....several choices, actually. We talked, we teased, we laughed endlessly. We touched, we kissed, and, as friends and lovers would, we made out again, and again....at the Holiday Inn! (g) Remember....we were 23 and 22, though feeling more like two giddy teenagers enjoying each other beyond anything considered possible, or even reasonable! Our trip, as it turned out.....was really just another honeymoon! She complimented me, my attention to detail and the order of our journey. We never got tired, it was all great fun! My pleasure, sweetheart. So happy you decided to come with me. She punched my thigh....not so tenderly either. Kay, that hurt! :-) I know, I skipped part 2 purposely. Reading through it again, I decided its a bit too explicit for general audiances. Nothing raunchy, mind you, a bit heated yes! :-) Ours is a real love story....often spicy. Whats a love story without a little flavor anyway? If you would really like to read it, Id be happy to send it to you in private messaging, just ask! Otherwise....well...I dont know what else to say. :-) bob Part 4 next.....
