Letting Go Of The Past! By Pastor Mike Blankenship You will never get very far in life if your focus is in the rearview mirror.You will never enter Canaan until you are willing to leave Egypt. Holding on to your past is like trying to swim upstream with an anchor tied around your ankle. You simply will not get very far.The human brain has two primary functions. There is the memory which is used to replay the past and there is the imagination which, is to pre-play the future. The correct way to use your memory would be to replay past victories which in turn will help to build your faith. Never use the memory to replay past offenses and the hurts of the past. The correct way to use your imagination is to get a clear vision of the future you desire and pre-play it over and over again in detail in the theater of your mind. Always remember as long as you are constantly replaying your hurtful past, you will remain in that place. Maybe your dreams and goals for the future you desire have been tarnished and become dull and unclear. Let me encourage you to turn on your dream machine once again. Dream again. Make your future so big that your past will pale in comparison. If your past was so great you would have stayed there. Let Go Of The Past and move into the future you desire today! “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, (Philippians 3:12-14).
