Letty Saelee served in the US Army. She was deployed to Iraq in 2003 and 2007 When in Iraq, she was the NCOIC of the battalion command psd team and the only female attached to am all male unit and also the gunner for the corneal. She was injured in 2007 when the Humvee she was riding in ran over an IED where she sustained a substantial brain injury and ruptured ear drum. During the blast, she was in the gunner hatch. She returned home in Jan 2007. In 2007 she was transferred to Ft. Bragg 3rd Brigade BTSTB – Co. Headquarters as a platoon sgt. Still encountering problems, she underwent brain surgery at Walter Reed and began rehabilitative treatment with the Wounded Warriors at Ft. Bragg. She was honorably discharged with medical retirement in Sept 2012. She continues to serve her country through the Wounded Warrior program and the Raleigh Battalion Sea Cadets Thank you for your Sacrifice and Service.
