Let’s face it the decisions we make in life have consequences - TopicsExpress

Let’s face it the decisions we make in life have consequences whether it’s now, later, or when we face God and are called to account for what we did with the life he has blessed us with. Everything we do has a consequence but too often we are so busy complaining, moaning and groaning, or simply blaming others for our decisions or indecisions that we fail to see the responsibility and consequences of what we do. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding.” Psalm 111:10. We are called to have heavenly wisdom not earthly wisdom, therefore in order to start making decisions based on heavenly wisdom; we must first get to know our Heavenly Father. When we feel we lack wisdom to make decisions, the bible gives us the answer on where to turn first, James 1:5-8 “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” But we can’t just go before God with doubts filling our minds or with one hand still clutching at the world thinking that the world has all the answers anyway and God is a last resort, verse six goes on to state “ But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone.” Therefore our attitude should be one of faith and undivided loyalty to God in order to gain the wisdom and understanding we are seeking and in order to really know and trust God. “Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. 7 Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.” When we get to know God and gain true wisdom and understanding of who HE is then we can start making decisions based on His ways and his commands daily rather than trying to make it on our own or getting it from everyone else but God. Today, I pray that we will go to God, the true source of Heavenly Wisdom, asking to be lead into make wise decisions every day so that we can give an honest account of our lives now and in the future. Have a blessed day - Jannice
